Selenium Ruby Cologne with Rope Stopper and Paperweight Connector

Optic Ribbed Lead Glass with Applied Ornament

Once the eye catches the rich red color of this cologne, the paperweight connector immediately takes the focus. The paperweight connector is comprised of swirled orange latticino, bubbles, and mica. The paperweight was not a common product of the Steuben Glass Works; in fact many were made after hours by the workers.

Technical Note: Latticino is Italian and means “little milk-white glass strands.” The technique latticino is executed when white and clear glass rods are twisted to make candy-like stripes. (In this example orange is used.)
