From John Styler of Prospect Heights, Illinois:
On Wednesday I had the pleasure attending a luncheon meeting of the Midwestern Antique Club at the Westmorland Country Club in Wilmette Illinois. A pleasure because the guest speaker was Alan Shovers.
We were privileged to see a slide presentation of the magnificent collection of Carder Steuben Susan and he have amassed and the beautiful way they have reconstructed their home to display the hundreds of pieces they own.
I am sure members attending the Symposium in September would be thrilled if he would share his presentation with us.
One amusing fact, though hard to believe is with Steuben all through the house, they own a cat. Amusing to me because the first piece of Steuben we owned was trashed by our cat; both short lived!
