Membership Message from John Styler

Alan, as I receive the names of the members that have renewed or new members who have joined the club I mail the copy of the Rockwell Museum 2000 DVD to them. Shortly after the first of the year I will be mailing reminder postcards to all who have not renewed as of yet.

I encourage our members to use the renewal form so easily available right on this site. John Styler, Prospect Heights, Illinois

Collector’s Choice on Lace Glass

In the last Gazette we pictured a Collector’s Choice PDF on Lace Glass. The PDF picture was blurry and not readable. So, we had the pointed out by a reader. Actually, we knew it wasn’t readable, so at the bottom we listed a link that opened up the PDF in readable form. This new Gazette format allows us to not only provide a PDF as an attachment, but also insert a picture. Perhaps we’ll figure out how to make the picture viewable, but in the meantime we’ll include the attachment which can be opened. Also, many pictures can be clicked on and will connect to the Carder Steuben Club website to provide more information on the picture shown, as appropriate. Here is the PDF link.

John Styler Question

I discovered Mr. Carder designed tea & coffee pots for PYREX toward the end of his tenure.
Some were bought by second parties who designed metal lids for them and some who etched floral and other designs on them and some made it to the market place directly from PYREX.

At the 2011 symposium auction there were 2 up for auction and they garnered pretty hansom prices. I have taken an interest in them and could serve tea to the multitude and not use one of the pots twice. Does anyone out there have any information to add on his PYREX?
