NECKLACE WITH CRYSTAL PENDANT – SEED ENGRAVING

Designed by Eric Hilton

Width of crystal 2″ Width of necklace 5″ Gold, 18 karat

$2,500

Two-part crystal pendant engraved by copper wheel with a seed motif and held in a gold frame suspended from a gold necklace.

The bottom section of the crystal is an inverted trilateral arc engraved from end to end, on two sides, with interlacing patterns. The top section is round — the front, a truncated cone; the back, a circle with an oval cut engraved with seed forms.

Seen through the crystal, the forms increase in size, multiply and intermingle.

The slender gold necklace, round with an additional small semicircle at the front, is hinged and fastens at the back.

Eric Hilton, Scottish sculptor and designer, received a diploma and post diploma from the Edinburgh College of Art, where he later was appointed to the staff, Among exhibitors of his work have been the New Vision and Grosvenor Galleries, London; the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Canada; and the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York; his commissions have included sandblast panels, architectural screens, and murals; he has published articles on glass design and capturing light in the Scottish Field and London Times.

Note: This is one of a series of jewelry designs by Eric Hilton shown in Madigan at page 314. Eric Hilton spoke at the Symposium in 2015.
