This is an example of a shade vase which is not seen very often. They have been found signed “Steuben” but I have not seen one signed with a shape number. Since there are about 3 shade shapes that this might be it has not been possible to positively identify the shape. The closest shapes appear to be shapes 2311, 2353 and 2575 with 2353 and 2575 being the best match. This is just another example of some of the problems we run up against when we try to identify Steuben.

2013 Carder Steuben Club annual Symposium will be held at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY from September 19-21, 2013. The festivities will begin with Frederick Carder’s 150th birthday celebration on the evening of September 18, 2013.
