Slovenia Glass

I was quite impressed seeing the two pieces of crystal presented to President Trump and Vice President Pence and designed & engraved by the world renowned Peter O’Rourke of Mt. Pleasant PA and hearing they were made of the finest crystal in the world in Slovenia, where our first lady Melania Trump is from.

Well I had to investigate this further and to my surprise I learned Lenox, Waterford, Wedgwood & Rogaska crystal as well as others also come from Slovenia and all are now owned by Fiskaras Corp. of Finland.
Now the big surprise to me was 50% of Slovenian Crystal sold is under the Trump name.

My 110 pieces of crystal are Edinburgh Thistle pattern so I had to see where they stand; yet another crystal company that didn’t survive. It seem they all went under at the same time Steuben did; it’s was the world economy and the huge sums of cash in their pension funds the new buyers look at.
