John Styler of Prospect Heights, Illinois has a question. In addition we still have a few more pictures from the Symposium that John took and two of these are also shared in this e-mail.
Alan, At last year’s symposium there was a session “is it a piece of Steuben”?
I had a picture of one of ten service plates, needless to say there was no consensus
by the experts which I appreciated from a picture, not having the actual piece.
I have since examined them more closely and noticed the rims are ground as
is the base. They do not have waves but a crystal clear. It was suggested at this
years symposium that they may in fact be Lalique or Baccarat.
From the attached pictures could a member shed some light on what they are?
The gold leaf is backed up by something that looks like cream colored paint as
shown in one of these pictures.
