House and Garden

Jul 8, 2006
Issue 176

Attached you’ll find a .pdf with a picture of a lead in page from House and Garden magazine. The
article is entitled “Surprise Package” and features some elegant products selected from apparently
New York stores. When you open the .pdf you’ll be greeted by a glorious picture of a pair of Blue
Aurene candlesticks. Such a graceful picture. A friend sent me this and didn’t include any details.
So, I think it must be “vintage” Carder sticks for sale at Steuben Glass’ Madison Avenue store.
Such an eye catcher full page picture in a popular magazine keeps Carder in the forefront of
attention and his classic style and design only whets the appetites of the readers.
Club member John Kohut is actively engaged in putting on the Cut Glass convention in the Crystal
City, Corning, this coming August which we reported last month. He says they expect 350 to 400
attendees. See more at

Last night I sent out the brochure on Carder Club upcoming Symposium. I was advised of a typo.
The Knoll dinner is listed in one place as Thursday night, and another on Friday. It is Friday. Next,
some people can’t open pdf’s. That will unfortunately mean you can’t open the House and Garden
wondrous piece of photography. However, here following is the Symposium program for those who
can’t open the pdf. Also, a corrected copy is attached.
