When you go to www.cardersteubenclub.org website it is a wonderful resource featuring thousands of pictures of Carder glass for reference and comfort. Where did all those pictures come from? From a vast number of collectors. It’s an absolutely amazing collection of photos, referenced by shape number. Recently, someone asked the question of how you can submit a picture to be included and expand this powerful resource. It’s quite simple. Send a jpeg to the Club’s webmaster, Marshall Ketchum at mdketchum@yahoo.com
In doing so, several pieces of information can help Marshall. First, the dimensions of the piece. If you think you know the shape #, add this in. Likewise, your thoughts on color. Marshall will acknowledge receipt, let you know if he agrees this is a piece of Carder glass. If Marshall has other thoughts about the shape number (Marshall has an amazing knowledge of shapes), he’ll share those with you. The bottom line is that we’ll all be enriched. While the web site has thousands of images, there are continually images being found and added. Also, sometimes your jpeg may be a better image than what is already on the site. If you go to the website take a look at the section on “Contributors”. You see a vast number of contributors listed. Yes, the website is an ongoing work in process. As many as 100 images are added each and every month. While there are thousands of images pictured, along with factory information for each shape, there are thousands of pieces that aren’t pictured. So, if you haven’t been a picture contributor, please, please consider adding to this important documentation resource.
