The most famous of the Carder Steuben glass panels are found over the entry doors to the RCA Building facing Rockefeller Plaza. Many other architectural glass from Steuben, either custom ordered, or from their architectural catalogue are found in elegant buildings throughout the U.S. or passenger ships built in the period 1929-34. John Styler reports on one example:
I wish I could remember the name of the company in Skokie Il who’s headquarters was the most beautiful Art Deco building I have ever seen. It had both Tiffany & Steuben works in it’s interior. I remember reading when the company was sold it was thought the structure was worth half of the price paid. Oddly enough it is on McCormick Blvd, the dividing line between Skokie & Evanston Il.
