Lisa Ackerman of Orange, California calls our attention to an interesting article about the future of glass collecting. Seven glass clubs coming together for a meeting this summer in Overland Park, Kansas. While the Carder Steuben Club is not a participant in this meeting the discussion and goals are important and show promise.

I saw this article in the Feb 7th Antique Week newspaper. http://www.antiqueweek.com/ArchiveArticle.asp?newsid=1911 (if this link doesn’t work, copy and paste into your browser) The gist is that this is the coming together of many glass clubs, trying to brainstorm as to how to reach the next generation of collectors. This is a much lamented problem, and perhaps it won’t be all solved at this summit, but still it is a unique approach 🙂 Lisa
