David Goldstein, President of the Club from Naples, Florida sends along this information on the use of the Club’s website.

As a result of extraordinary efforts by Marshall Ketchum, our Webmaster, and Vivienne Richards, Chair of our Vetting Committee, all the line drawings of Carder Steuben shapes that are available to the Club have been added to the Shape Index on the Club’s web site, http://www.cardersteubenclub.org/

These include all the line drawings in Paul Gardner’s Glass of Frederick Carder that are archived in the Rakow Research Library at the Corning Museum of Glass, as well as a few hundred (particularly those associated with the 8000 series drawings) that are archived at the Paul Vickers Gardner Glass Center at Alfred University. In addition, the Index includes line drawings Marshall uncovered in his own research in the Carder Archives at the Rakow which were not published in Gardner.

Unfortunately, there are many shapes for which all that we have in the Shape Gallery is the line drawing. If you should be so fortunate as to own an example for which there is no picture, we would appreciate it if you would take a picture of your piece and email it to info@cardersteubenclub.org so that the picture can be added to the Shape Index.

If you have an unusual or better example of a shape that is already pictured, we would appreciate your emailing us a picture of it. The Shape Gallery is the best research tool that we have and your contributions can make it even better.

Happy Hunting,

David Goldstein
