Find Possibilities

If you go to the Carder Steuben web site and do a Shape Gallery search the pink rims are getting classified as Coral. Put “rim” in the key word blank then select “Coral” in the drop down color choice menu you will get around 250 pieces with applied rims. Browse through them looking for Coral rim color. You should find about 8 choices to view.

As far as your fingernail sticking in the grove at the rim and rim being slightly flattened on the top side is because the rim is “Marved” in. It is not fully marved in thus creating the slight groove where your fingernail catches.

The plate and rim seem to be slightly iridized from the photo. In person is it iridized with stannous chloride (tin chloride) spray like Verre de Soie? I have had a piece of iridized Calcite in the form of a lamp shade.

One other rare color possibility for the rim color could be Pink Calcite. This a Carder color rarely used but not as likely as Coral.
