Lighting brings out the best in a piece of glass. Under lighting (that is a lot of light from the underneath) transparent crystal just zings. I hope these pictures and this last one from the store makes that case. Corrine Oats indicates that the store has a lot more Carder Glass in their vaults. I guess if you don’t see what you like, perhaps just ask and they’ll bring out that special piece. At any rate Corrine says the Vintage Carder merchandise is selling quite well.

STEUBEN GLASS CELEBRATES ITS HISTORY WITH
CARDER EXHIBITION DURING
AT MADISON AVENUE FLAGSHIP STORE

WHO: Steuben Glass celebrates its history with a Frederick Carder exhibition.

WHAT: For the first time, Steuben Glass will host a special exhibit featuring over 400 of their antique pieces on the main floor of their flagship boutique. This display, curated by Tom Dimitroff, provides customers with the unique opportunity to view a wide range of rare and desirable limited-edition pieces at one time.

Designed from 1903 to1932 under co-founder Frederick Carder’s direction, the works showcase distinct techniques and colors no longer utilized. Many of the pieces on exhibit were limited editions – – the only other one of its kind are featured in prominent museums around the country including the Metropolitan Museum of Art , MoMA and the Rockwell Museum of Western Art. Carder Steuben Glass pieces range in retail price from $400 to $43,000.
