A couple of observations from Friday’s listing of dinnerware items to put on your Steuben order blank. First, from Scott Hansen of Briarcliff, New York
Alan –
I noticed you included ash trays in your Steuben dinnerware categories. Any host or hostess who puts out Steuben ash trays at a dinner party would undoubtedly also want to put out a Steuben smoke consumer – maybe one in green jade like the one that can be seen in this link: http://cardersteubenclub.com/aboutus/about-view.cfm?category=Undocumented.

Next, Lisa Ackerman of Orange, California wants to know
Good Morning, Alan!
Thank you for the Word Of The Day! 🙂 I had never heard of a
Appoloninaris Tumbler I’m sure that the more erudite readers of this dispatch already know what this stuff is. I did not and looked it up.
Aquamaestro
And maybe someone else in the club is better at searching than I am, but I couldn’t find an example in the Shape Gallery. What set it apart from another tumbler?
Just wondering. 🙂 Lisa Ackerman

Then, Gerry Eggert of Syracuse, New York comments on the pictures of a current day glass studio operation and its furnaces.
Alan,
This is a small glass factory!

Finally, Michael Krumme of Los Angeles has passed along a link of an auction house in Los Angeles that has weekly auctions and a more elaborate quarterly auction. A quarterly coming up this weekend with some nice glass. Since I hadn’t heard of this auction house, Michael has suggested I send it along.
Some fine things come through A.N. Abell Auction Company in LA. If I didn’t have a “day job” I’d be over there every week to see what was coming up. I believe that weekly auction day is every Thursday.
Definitely “where the dealers shop,” for sure.
