DeVilbiss Gold and Blue Aurene Perfume Atomizers with an Engraved Bases

Iridized Lead Glass

The DeVilbiss family worked with many glass companies, including Steuben, to develop perfume bottles for the “perfumizer” atomizer. Both companies, DeVilbiss and Steuben, capitalized on the popularity of the other.

Technical Note: The DeVilbiss atomizer was created by Dr. Allen DeVilbiss for the application of his throat medicine. His son Thomas developed it into the perfumizer for the delivery of perfume. Eventually the DeVilbiss family expanded their atomizer technology for automobile paint and furniture stain applications.
