Issue 1992
We acquired our first piece of Steuben about 20 years ago. It’s a cosmetic jar, clear glass with ruby gold cintra reeding and a molded flower stopper, shape 6590. It certainly encouraged us to expand our glass collection to include the many beautiful Steuben pieces that we now have.

The best bargain is actually a piece I got only a few weeks ago. I offered to help with an estate sale for a friend of a friend. Most of the glass was new and not something that called to me. But this goblet was sitting on a shelf and definitely had “the look.” Thanks to my nephew getting me a smart phone and teaching me how to use it and the wonderful Shape Gallery on the website, it only took a few minutes to verify that it was shape 1044, a verre de soie goblet with engraved flowers. I was so excited that I paid the full price for it…. $22.
