Dark Jade Blue

Dark Blue Jade is a dark, rich cobalt blue with a translucent quality. When a piece is found in an optic-ribbed pattern, it is particulary beautiful. Dark Blue Jade was introduced in about 1927, which was relatively late in the life of Steuben production. This circumstance probably helps account for its rarity.

Yellow Jade

The item referred to as Jade Yellow is in keeping with the norms found in Jade Green and Rosaline, in that it has the same softness of color and appearance so typical of Alabaster-mixed compounds. Generally the Jade Yellow resembles a subdued canary yellow as far as actual color is concerned.

An interesting sidelight to the Jade picture is that of the colors Frederick Carder created at Steuben his strongest dislike is for the Yellow Jade.
