This is an example of a 2390 shade vase. Gardner on page 69 Ill.103 calls this shape a variant of shape 6545. The correct shape number has only been identified in the past 10 years. The factory records for shape 2390 say “2390 7″ Vase F. Blue Silverine $2.50 Ea (1929)”. All of the examples of this shape that I have seen have all been in Silverine, what we collectors now call Silverina.

2013 Carder Steuben Club annual Symposium will be held at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY from September 19-21, 2013. The festivities will begin with Frederick Carder’s 150th birthday celebration on the evening of September 18, 2013.
