CSC Website Update

Feb 13, 2013
Issue 1672

A rather modest upgrade has been made to the website. The Etched Patterns section has two lists. One is Shape Numbers vs. Etched Patterns and the other is Etched Patterns vs. Shape Numbers. These lists have both been modified to include etched pattern links back to those patterns on the website where they exist. Those patterns can now be viewed without needing to go back to the Search function.

NEXT REDLAND’S PIECE FOR IDENTIFICATION #31

This is HGM Steuben No 31. The label says that it is a Steuben 3 3/4″ cachepot; blue handblown; pattern: air bubble.

I do not immediately recognize this. With the controlled bubbles it may not be Steuben.

These bubbled do look like the Steuben ones to me. Most people would answer Celeste Blue but in fact it is much more common to come in French Blue. I wish Marshall could find a shape number on this one! Joann can you do a profile(mug shot) on this one so Marshall could see the shape perfectly please.

HGM (HISTORICAL GLASS MUSEUM) #32

Ribbed Pomona Green Fan Vase on Topaz foot

Shape #6287

8 inches high

This is HGM Steuben No 32. The label says it is a Steuben 8″ fan vase with Pomona Green top and amber base. Is it Steuben shape #6287?

Joann Tortarolo

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is the 6287 fan vase in Pomona Green with probably a Topaz foot. Topaz is on the brown side while Amber is on the yellow side. They are sometimes difficult to tell apart.

Carder Steuben Vertical Optic Ribbed Fan Vase in Pamona Green with Topaz Foot. This is definatly Topaz! This is the piece you would use to seperate Topaz from Amber as an example. The Pamona Green will glow brightly under the black light! (uranium)
