More on the grapefruit vase. First from Willson Craigie of Richmond, Virginia.
Good morning Alan — crushed ice in the out bowl, small chunks of grapefruit in the inner.
Then, Gerry Eggert of Rochester, New York observes.
Well they certainly do not grow grapefruits in the snows of Rochester or Evansville, but we do eat a lot of grapefruit. I buy a grapefruit half, unsectioned, for breakfast for $2.25. I have to section it myself. It is served in a soup dish! I can imagine in the 20’s and 30’s there were dishes designed for grapefruits. Steuben did have a lemon dish, for lemon wedges. There is one in the Carder exhibit at CMOG!
Talk about grapefruits!! The Patriots just hatched a big one!!!!
The best to all the grapefruit eaters!
