Issue 332
This past weekend I made a Carder Steuben presentation in Coronado, CA (San
Diego). I was joined by San Diegan, David Chadwick-Brown who brought parts of
his collection in to feel and touch and see (in person). I did a power point. What
was remarkable was that this program was a sellout. 118 showed up. It was a
Sunday morning brunch of delectable’s and Art glass. The audience just loved it
and were interested and fascinated. They loved seeing the glass in person as
well as on the screen. Many commented that they hadn’t seen glass like this and
didn’t know it existed. David Chadwick-Brown provided a sampling of perhaps
thirty or forty pieces in a wide range of colors. It proved to me how interested
the world is in Mr. Carder’s glass, and yet how underexposed the glass is to the
general public. Some pictures can be found at this link.
