Make your reservations for the Symposium (Oct. 1-3) pronto. From Beth Shaut
Hi Alan, I was informed by someone coming to the Symposium that there are not any rooms left at the Confort Inn but still available at the Raddison.
Then the Symposium will is timed to be “just in time” to use the Rakow library at Corning Museum of Glass. Regan Brumagen at the Rakow reports
I wanted to let you know about some news that may affect you and your members this fall. In order to install compact shelving in the Rakow Library’s stacks to give us much needed room for our collection, we need to have some structural changes done to our building. This will require us to move our special collections and archives into storage and close the library for several months this fall. Basically we will be closed from Oct 19th until the beginning of January 2010. The special collections will be offsite in storage until around late February. The Museum, of course, will remain open as usual.
We apologize for the short notice, but funding just came through for this and we obviously want to make this happen, since it will significantly improve our facilities!
