In reviewing the Brooklyn Museum’s web site and cataloguing a piece of Steuben glass it was commented on how in one place they identified the place of creation as Corning, NY and in another as New York City. Then yesterday it was pointed out the shape # didn’t match up. In response we find out that they showed, much like the place of creation, two shape numbers, obviously one a transposition.
From Scott Hansen:
I assume by now someone else has pointed out that the shape number (2647) given with the text that Bob refers to is indeed incorrect. However, it appears to be a typo as the tags to the right of the description when you click on the link contain the correct shape number (2641).
Also, Marshall Ketchum comments:
Alan
Someone may have misread the number. It looks like a 2641 and the shape doesn’t match the bottom of the 2647.
