We love hearing the following message from Dale Rice.

I have to admit, having spent 35 years in the newspaper business and now teaching journalism at Texas A&M, I’m pretty jaded when it comes to “newsletters.” However, I love the Gazette. I’m learning a lot and enjoying every minute of it. I, too, like John Styler, was fascinated with the inquiry on the glass slipper. I can’t wait to see what else surfaces on the subject through the club and the newsletter.

On Tuesday, I’ll be heading to my hometown, which is 10 miles west of Corning, for a couple of weeks. Can’t wait to spend time in the shops and the museum. It’s one more thing that makes the trips back home special.

Thanks to J. Goldstein of Mokena, Illinois (Chicago suburb) for passing this along on a gift to the Pope.

Alan –

Did anyone happen to notice that the gift Matt Lauer presented the Pope yesterday was wrapped in a Steuben box? According to what was announced on TV, the Pope was presented with a crystal cat.
