Decorating a Candlestick with a Candle
from Lisa Ackerman of Orange, California
Good Morning, Alan,
Well….since I guess the candlestick discussion isn’t QUITE yet dead, I’ll weigh in with one more option as to ‘use’.
When attending the American Cut Glass Association convention last year in San Diego, Mom and I were amazed to see battery operated taper candles! We were so impressed we even ordered some for the shop. Some may declare heresy, but we thought it was a great way to ‘use’ candlesticks without worrying about either hot wax cracking the candle cup OR that hot wax dripping on an heirloom tablecloth or table. (Also safe around children and pets.)
These aren’t your ‘mother’s fake candles’. They have a flickering feature AND some have a self timer that will come on for a set amount of hours (4 – 6 depending on candle) turn itself off, then turn itself on tomorrow at the same time.
I’ve enjoyed coming through the door after a long day to see my little candles greeting me home. I know….simple mind….simple pleasure.
