99 Cents

In response to the June 21st message from auction chair Mark Chamovitz, I want to challenge each member of the CSC to find at least one “bargain” piece of Carder Steuben and donate it to our annual auction.

It’s not as difficult to find a Steuben “sleeper” as you might think. I recently purchased this engraved Verre de Soie water goblet at a Goodwill store in Hollywood for 99 cents. Sure, it’s not Intarsia or Rouge Flambe’ or anything, but it’s headed for the auction.

I feel grateful for all of the knowledge that I’ve gained as a result of being a member of the CSC. I realize that there are costs involved in keeping our website up and otherwise running our organization, and I feel obliged to contribute in some small way to sustaining it.

Who knows what else I might find and donate between now and September!
