I’ve been repeatedly told that I must make a point of visiting the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Virginia to see their Steuben collection. I’m sorry to report I haven’t made it yet. However, until I (you) do, you can go to www.chrysler.org and discover all 258 pieces in their collection.

On their web site opening page they describe the museum as “A museum within a museum devoted to the art of glass. Our stellar glass collection is augmented by a Glass Studio that offers free daily demonstrations.”

Next, go to the tab identified as “Our Collection”. In the drop down click on “Search the Online Collection”. The next screen allows you to type in your search “Steuben”. You’ll come up with 17 pages of both Carder Steuben and early modern Steuben. 16 objects per page. Just a feast to view and enjoy. Double click on any piece and you’ll see how a collection is curated. This is today’s feast for a happy Thanksgiving.
