All vibrant colors pale in comparison to Carder’s Pales. I find at least five pales in the factory records. Each one has its own distinctive and unique formula for the color. They are Pale Amethyst, Pale Topaz, Pale Rose, Pale Ruby, and Pale Green. Every single one of them, in my opinion, is quite rare and a treasure when found.
I’ll start with a simple one, Pale Amethyst. It is subtly vibrant. It comes from the Amethyst family, thus giving three distinct variations of Amethyst; light, regular, and dark. Many collectors just lump them together and call them Amethyst. Factory records show they all have an official Steuben name. The proper names would be Pale Amethyst, Amethyst, and Royal Purple.
Below is Pale Amethyst.
