At this year’s Symposium (Oct. 2-3) in Corning, NY the theme of a number of programs will be a comparison of some of Mr. Carder’s contemporaries. Beth Hylen, on staff at The Rakow Library in Corning, has done research and discovered from Mr. Carder’s notebooks, journals and recorded materials some of Mr. Carder’s opinions on his contemporaries, or his competition. This promises to be a fascinating presentation on the leading competing American glass makers of the early 1900s.
There’s nothing like a compliment to cheer up the day. So, I pass this thanks to all contributors to this Gazette, from Bea Weiskopf.
I also want to thank you for the club emails which I find very interesting and useful. The website has helped me many times. Thanks to all contributors.
