VASE (USA), CA. 1930

This is a Vase. It was manufactured by Steuben Glass Works. It is dated ca. 1930 and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

APPLE SCULPTURE, 1940

This is a Sculpture. It was manufactured by Steuben Glass Works. It is dated 1940 and we acquired it in 1967. Its medium is blown and applied glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Steuben Glass Works was a large American art glass manufacturer founded in 1903 in Corning, New York. The firm produced an enormous variety of wares, from vases to dinnerware and beyond. This realistic form made of solid glass with an applied glass stem was designed by Angus McDougall in 1940 as part of Steuben’s ornamental line. It was re-released in 1993 to celebrate Steuben’s ninetieth anniversary.
It is credited Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiesenberger.
