Issue 1683
The Carder Steuben Club is managed by its Board of Directors, which is comprised of five officers and three directors, who are elected by the members of the Club at the Annual Meeting. At this year’s annual meeting we will be electing a new President for a two-year term and a Director for a three-year term. The terms of the officers and directors are staggered so that there is always some continuity.
I am completing my second term and am term-limited, so I am not eligible to run for another term as your President. However, Alan Shovers, whose current term as a Director is coming to an end, is eligible to run for another term.
I have appointed a Nominating Committee comprised of Marshall Ketchum, our Webmaster, and myself to solicit and review candidates for both positions. If you are interested in serving or would simply like to know what serving in either position involves, please contact either Marshall at mdketchum@yahoo.com or me at elvidant@aol.com.

WEBMASTER’S CORNER
This is a 6988 fan vase that is 7.5 inches high. The vase is in colorless Silverina and it has a Mirror Black foot. This shape is probably seen less often as the other Steuben fan vases that they made.

BOHEMIAN GINGER JAR?
The description for this piece is Loetz 13″ Ginger Jar and that it is iridescent jade (not aurene) in a handblown stemmed bubble pattern. I originally sent this piece to Leigh Demrow because he is helping me with the Bohemian pieces. Lee has identified it as Steuben pattern #3114 and states that it is a Steuben covered vase shape.

Gold Aurene Covered Vase with Crown Finial
Shape #3114

Rande Bly adds comment, “When describing this one we always give note to the fact it has the crown finial.”
