In Appreciation

Dear Friends,

I was astonished this week to receive a gift of 2 Carder wineglasses in the Fountain pattern from the Carder-Steuben club in recognition of my retirement from the Corning Museum of Glass. Thank you very much for your courtesy; the glasses are quite elegant and I will enjoy using them very much. I have always enjoyed participating in the Club and will continue to do so, regardless of retirement.

Next year’s Symposium will take place in Corning at CMoG, on Friday and Saturday, September 19 & 20, 2014. Carder’s birthday party (151 years) will take place Thursday night, September 18, 2014.

Say a Prayer

Thank you, Alan for sending out yesterday’s Gazette. I was wondering how the Symposium went. And Scott Hansen, newly elected president, is to be congratulated (and prayed for).

Thank you also for continuing to send out the Gazette. I’m sure much in the success of the club and the attendance has to do with your constant work. It is much appreciated.

2014 Carder Steuben Club annual Symposium will be held at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY September 19 and 20, 2014. The festivities will begin with Frederick Carder’s 151st birthday celebration on the evening of Thursday, September 18, 2014.
