Charles Sweigart of Reinholds, Pennsylvania has these suggestions regarding Bob Mueller’s proposed book.
Discussions with others over many years about getting books published by Shiffer leads me to believe the publishers is less than enthusiastic about the potential sales volume of the book and is pushing the publication date back by asking for editing in anticipation of an economic upturn in the future. If a large number of people wrote Shiffer and asked when a book on Steuben will be published, since the company will no longer exist, it might get them to expedite the publish date. Their anticipation of a wildly anticipated book sales volume might just change their position. Just my humble opinion.
Next, Myrna Wilson of Wayland, Massachusetts suggests issues with self publishing.
When you self publish you bear all the expenses involved. Then you have to self market. I don’t think the membership’s buying power would cover all the expenses. It is a major disappointment that the book will not be available.
