From Jenny Moore
Alan – Could you let the Club know that Bob is currently recuperating from some difficulty breathing at Founder’s Pavilion, Room 203, 205 East First St., Corning, NY 14830. I know he’d appreciate well wishes from friends.

I’d also like to invite Club members to consider a few educational activities I have planned for this year with Elder hostels in Corning: Five weeks of Hands-on Glassmaking at the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass will be offered. Each week features 20 hours of glassmaking instruction at the Studio divided equally between furnace glassmaking, fusing and flame working. Dates are February 22-27, March 15-20, April 19-24, October 18-23, and November 15-20. (October and November programs are not yet on sale – check back in April for these two fall dates.) We’ve offered this program for over 10 years and have over 800
happy glass worker alumni. Maximum 27 participants per week yield small sections and lots of personal instruction. The Glass Collector’s Compendium Elderhostel program will also be
offered April 13-16. This program features in depth study at the Museum and Rakow Library with curators, librarians and course instructor, Tom Dimitroff. For more information about these programs, go to www.elderhostel.org and search for Corning. The programs feature
room and board at Watson Homestead Conference and Retreat Center, go to www.watsonhomestead.org for photos and complete 2009 Elderhostel schedule. If people want to stay in Corning hotels or B&Bs, they can choose the commuter option. For more information or questions, folkscan also contact me at jmonroe@stny.rr.com. Thanks,
Jenny Monroe
