Linda Feuer of New York City shows us an example of Steuben black under a light. Keep in mind this is an acid etched piece, so the black is over an underlying blue and this might affect the coloration under light.

I have the attached vase lamp base, with a light inside. With the light, the black shows up to be amethyst.
