Hi,
There is no such thing as black glass.
Glass that appears black is made from a super saturated batch color using most commonly
purple/amethyst or sometimes green or blue.

Good morning folks,
Here is a photo of a Tiffany Egyptian Collar Vase with both reflected and transmitted light. This is a fine example of what I previously mentioned.
The bowl Rande Bly submitted is a bit reminiscent of a THICK piece of Blue Aurene, such as a Stump Vase foot, which appears blue; but is a Heliotrope color with transmitted light. This appears to me that this may be a fine time for Greg M. to chime in?
