Behind The Glass: In-Cider Information

Jul 28, 2017
Issue 2762

Our opening event for the Symposium, on Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 pm, is CMoG’s monthly Behind The Glass lecture. This lecture will be devoted to the Finger Lakes’ regional cider heritage and the collaboration between the cider makers and the Hot Glass Demo team glassworkers. Here is the description of the event from CMoG:

New York is the second largest apple-producing region in the United States. The cideries in this state are doing amazing things with apples, drawing international attention and acclaim in recent years. Pair this with the Museum’s talented glassmakers, and you have planted the seeds for a fantastic collaboration to create the perfect glass for enjoying hard cider.

The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes and The Corning Museum of Glass present Behind the Glass: In-Cider Information on Thursday, September 14. We will unveil ciders and their custom-made glasses, learn about the history of apples and cider in the region from Maria Kennedy of The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, and hear local cider-makers and CMoG’s glass artists talk about their collaboration in a panel discussion.

Following the lecture we will return to a Symposium tradition with a Pizza Party at the CMoG Cafe.
