Diatreta Record?

A new auction price record for a Tiffany Studios lamp was recently set. You can read one account of the sale here:

This made me wonder what the auction price record is for a piece of Carder Steuben. The best I could find quickly is this piece of diatreta which sold at Sotheby’s.

Diatreta Report

I have a vague recollection that another piece of diatreta sold for more than this one but I can’t find it. Perhaps someone else can or can find another piece of Carder Steuben selling for a higher price.

Of course, from a financial point of view, we all chose the wrong field since a LeBron James rookie card sold last month for $5.2 million (a record for any sports trading card) and there is speculation that a Babe Ruth card that is coming to auction next month may eclipse that amount.
