What’s Ed Bush up to lately. It sounds like he’s been researching at the Rakow Library, as he reports:
The date of Carder’s appointment as Art Director of CGW is one of his career milestones. A careful reading of the books of Gardner, Madigan, and Dimitroff would suggest that the date was in February of 1932 when John MacKay became manager of the Steuben Division. I recently viewed Carder’s official Record of Employment with CGW. In a hand other than Carder’s there is the following entry: Appointed Art Director of Corning Glass Works – Effective August 1, 1931. (Bulletin No. 0-9182 – 8/1/31). This date is considerably earlier than anyone thought.
