First a thank you note from the Rockwell family. See attached.
Next, Tommy Dreiling of New York City sends this along about some pieces he has at the Julia auction.
I’ve decide to share a behind the seen secret with you. Late last year I was diagnosed with a sinus tumor that had to come out. In doing research I found an incredible Plastic Surgeon, Douglas Ousterhout, in San Francisco. My insurance would not pay for an out of network surgeon for such an expensive operation. They felt that there were great surgeons here in New York. But since they could not do it through my nose or mouth and would have to go at it through my forehead I really wanted Dr. Ousterhout, I saw pictures of his work rebuilding foreheads and he is just the best. So, I needed to sell my collection fast to raise the money for surgery. I sold to a dealer who then put several of my top pieces with James D. Julia, and they will be in their next auction. I hope the new buyers get as much pleasure from owning them as I did and I can’t wait to see what people think of them come bidding time! And I would like to know who gets them! The store has a happy ending, I has surgery March 26 and everything went perfect and I look great. Once I get back on my feet I will start collecting again, although I’m not sure it will be Steuben, I would always be thinking about the ones that got away.
