Bonnie Salzman of Richmond, Virginia delivered a program on Steuben perfumes at this spring’s annual meeting of the International Perfume Bottle Association. The images were wonderful. Perhaps more importantly, Bonnie did a great research job, largely at The Rakow Library of the Corning Museum of Glass. Her background information on Frederick Carder was fresh and well presented. It was a great learning experience for the novice and as well, those who are familiar with Mr. Carder. We shared some of the images in the Gazette courtesy of Bonnie several months ago.
Well, now in the Summer edition of the Perfume Bottle Quarterly they have a cover story with pictures and Bonnie’s delivered program. Verna Kocken of Springfield, Oregon, the publications chair of the Perfume Bottle Quarterly has generously agreed to permit the reproduction here by the attachment “to share our knowledge”.
Bonnie will be attending the Club’s Symposium, now less than a month away. For those attending please say hello and let her know your appreciation for a superb presentation and the great background piece on Carder’s work and the wonderful descriptions of glass techniques which is educating to all.
