Issue 3520
The Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) recently notified the Carder Steuben Club that all in-person events that exceed 10 persons and scheduled before September 30 will be cancelled due to Covid-19. This affects our Symposium scheduled for September 9-11.
The Board is in discussion with CMoG about possible alternatives, including holding a virtual Symposium , a Zoom Webinar , that CMoG will facilitate. Programming will be held over a two-day period , likely Friday and Saturday, September 10 -11. An annual business meeting will be held and there will be opportunities to visit with each other in chat rooms. A registration fee will be assessed to access the programs, and programs will be recorded and available for viewing for a period of time after the symposium for registered attendees. This allows you to see a program that you may have missed live.
There are many details to be worked out so please watch the Gazette for more information in the near future.
We missed the Symposium last year and did not want to cancel another one. We believe that this approach is a reasonable alternative.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Bonnie Salzman
President
