Rande Bly of Birmingham, Alabama adds to the Thistle discussion

I would like to add my 1.5 cents worth to the discussion of the Thistle pattern set. This is about as good as it gets. The near set is fabulous. Just think of the astronomical cost new for this set. Weeks and weeks worth of wages. If they were to discount it a mere $40,000 it would be running average of $1,000 per piece. It is open for offer. A price worth considering perhaps and a value we may see in our lifetimes for this type of ware. I have already seen a tall goblet of Black over Crystal in what could be considered a more desirable pattern but same type of ware bring $800 this year. Does it get better than Steuben cut to clear? This type of ware was one of the most expensive glass types ever sold at Steuben. While a piece of decorated Red Aurene might set you back about $25.00 a Center Piece of this would have been an easy $150.00.
