It’s That Time of Year

Dec 2, 2025
Issue 3772

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving celebration with your loved ones. These holiday celebrations remind us that another year is coming to a close, and that it’s time to please renew your membership in the Carder Steuben Glass Association for 2026 (or to join us for the first time!)  Your club membership is important to enable us to keep the website active, bring the Gazelle Gazettes to your inbox, and support our organization’s mission to encourage the knowledge, appreciation, and love of Steuben glass.

Inflation has increased the price of many things, but our membership remains the same!  The dues of $35 for one person, or $55 for a two-person household will keep you as active members through December 31, 2026, and give you access to all of our club benefits including membership in the Corning Museum of Glass.  It’s easy to renew your membership online by visiting the CSGA website here.  You can make your dues payment either through PayPal or by mailing a check.  The detailed instructions are available on the website.

Please take a moment and renew today.  Thank you very much for your support!

PLAN A VISIT TO THE CHRYSLER MUSEUM

A trip to the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia is worth WAY more than the price of admission – it’s FREE!

This museum has an impressive collection thanks in large part to Walter P. Chrysler, Jr., the automobile magnate.

A highlight is the museum’s glass collection, including some acclaimed cameo carved glass, including the Milton vase by John Northwood, and a Thomas Webb & Sons Antarctic vase, commemorating Robert Scott’s expedition to the South Pole.

Of interest to Frederick Carder collectors is a Carder sketch and a beautifully carved cameo vase completed during Carder’s tenure at Stevens & Williams.  Several items of Carder Steuben glass are also prominently displayed, highlighting the range of glass types and colors of the period.
