CMoG’s Brilliant Color Exhibit

Issue 3765

1st Dibs, a retail website, has an excellent article authored by Wendy Moonan on the current exhibit Brilliant Color at the Corning Museum of Glass. The article entitled “How a Craving for Color Revolutionized Glass” describes how the creation of synthetic dyes changed fashion and home goods, and influenced the styles and colors of glass. The article also summarized several of the glass makers whose works are on display as a part of the exhibit. You can view the full article here:  How a Craving for Color Revolutionized Glass

During the Symposium, we will have a guided tour of the exhibit with Amy J. Hughes, PhD, Assistant Curator at the Corning Glass Museum. Amy’s specializations include 19th and 20th-century and contemporary Central European glass, sculpture, photography, and visual culture.  Frederick Carder’s Steuben glass is featured in the exhibit and will surely be a highlight at the Symposium this year.
