I remember that piece. In looking it over we found the fluer de lis mark on the bottom curve of the foot. Dick Bright said he had never see the mark in the whole time he had the piece. We also found that that color was only sold on the west coast. Mr. Carder didn’t think it would sell here but that the west coast outlets could sell unusually shapes & colors.

Greg Merkel’s presentation on Carder’s blue glass got me thinking about a Symposium a long time ago. Dick Bright brought a piece of blue jade to the ID clinic. It was neither light nor dark. It was an unusual teal-like shade of blue. The piece was passed around and deemed it was Steuben, but we were not sure of the color. I believe Dick found this piece on the west coast and said he was told it was California Blue, at least that’s what I remember! Many years have gone by and we found a piece in that shade of blue. Now Greg has cleared up the mystery. It is Solid Blue Jade. Maybe others have some blue glass pieces they would like to share!
