What’s In A Name?
I am wholeheartedly in favor of changing our group’s name, for the reasons stated. It makes total sense.
I recall an experience I had in the 1990s, when I was invited to speak at the “Collectors Conference,” produced here in Southern California by Collector magazine. My topic was “Paden City Glass,” yet when the print program for the weekend was published, my presentation was titled, “Paden City.” Well… what’s THAT? Is it about the history of a town with that name? [No.] Is it about the pottery company that was located in Paden City, West Virginia? [No.] Is it about the glass company that was located in Paden City, West Virginia? [Yes.]
I felt that turnout for my presentation was less than it might have been, had attendees known that it would be a presentation on the glassware made by a particular glass company. Even if they had never heard of the company or its glass, they might attend out of curiosity, if they had an interest in glass.

Dialog between David Goldstein and Scott Hansen
I understand inserting “Glass” in the club’s name but I don’t see any value in changing from club to association.
Also, any changes can be accomplished by filing for a DBA, saving time and money. David Goldstein
I agree with you on the name change. Maybe “Glass” will help but “Association” certainly won’t.. So, I have decided just to stay out of this. Scott Hansen
