The Rakow Library also has the Frederick Carder papers and notebooks.

There is no currently available inventory of the papers (archives).

The notebook collection holds 33 of the personal notebooks of Frederick Carder, including 3 diaries. These notebooks are mainly filled with notes and recipes for making glass. This collection also includes the 1902 travel diary which consists of a collection of diary entries from Carder’s visits to various glassmaking centers around Europe. Organized into 4 series: I. Notebooks. II. Diaries. III. Publications and Clippings. IV. Letters. Each item has a separate record in the Rakow Library’s online catalog. The quickest way to find them is through the collection sets. At the top of the online catalog, click on Rakow Collections and select the Frederick Carder Notebook Collection.
