Gail Bardhan, retired librarian at the Rakow Library, gave a fascinating visual tour at the Symposium, using material culled from the Rakow Library, of how Carder Steuben glass was marketed through magazine and newspaper ads and salesmen’s promotional materials. Steuben glass was prominently featured, often in color when two thirds of ads were in black and white, in magazines such as Vogue, Town and Country, Good Housekeeping, House and Garden, Vanity Fair and more.
